About the Concert...

The visitRaleigh.com Benefit Concert for the Rock Hall of Fame is sure to be among the most anticipated shows in recent memory. In addition to the concert, other planned activities include a week long celebration of the influence of rock and roll on society, VIP pre and post concert parties in both Cary and Raleigh, and a John Entwistle Foundation public library event in Cary.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum's education outreach efforts and the John Entwistle Foundation's program of providing musical instruments and music lessons to disadvantaged youths through the public library systems in communities across the country. John Entwistle was the legendary bass guitarist for The Who and is himself a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is a nonprofit organization that exists to educate visitors, fans and scholars from around the world about the history and continuing significance of rock and roll music. It carries out this mission through its operation of a world-class museum that collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets this art form and through its library, archives and numerous educational programs.

Why Cary, NC was chosen to host the event...

Koka Booth Amphitheatre was chosen to host the concert because of its reputation as one of the country's most outstanding and picturesque outdoor concert venues; its size and the Rock Hall's desire to create a concert event where ticket holders could be relatively close to the stage; the amphitheatre's superior acoustics; and because the Town of Cary and its elected officials stepped forward with the financial and infrastructure support necessary to convince the Rock Hall's national trustees to award the concert to Cary. "This is going to be a fantastically cool event, and we are so proud to be able to bring this level of entertainment to our citizens and to our neighbors throughout North Carolina," said Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht. In addition to the concert, other planned activities include a week long celebration of the influence of rock and roll on society, VIP pre and post concert parties in both Cary and Raleigh, and a John Entwistle Foundation public library event in Cary. "We are very pleased to be bringing a small piece of the Rock Hall experience to the Triangle and a region that has such a rich and diverse music history," said Rick French, benefit concert chairman and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum's national board of trustees. "This concert will be a memorable experience that will be talked about for years to come by those that are fortunate enough to be able to attend."
